Mental Health Supported Housing is a flexible service designed to assist individuals to choose, obtain and retain safe, affordable housing in the environment of his/her choice. The services may include both financial assistance, and specialized Housing Case Management for individuals following the established guidelines of the “Mental Health Supportive Housing Priorities and Practice.”
How can Supported Housing assist ?
– Locating appropriate housing
– Financial assistance for individual to obtain housing
– Assist with moving
– Housing related life skills training
– Housing related crisis intervention
– Landlord tenant negotiations
– Assistance in negotiating a lease
– Budgeting
– Linkage to other community resources
Who is eligible for Supported Housing?
– Individuals 18 years and older (exceptions for those in the Youth/Young Adult services).
– Uninsured individual must be opened in the Base Service Unit (BSU) prior to receiving services.
– All referrals must be approved through Washington County BHDS
Who pays for this service?
There is no fee for individuals to use this service. This service is provided by the Mental Health Association with funding from Washington County BHDS and other sources.
